Maternal/Parental and Reproductive Mental Health

While I see clients with all sorts of concerns, I have significant training, experience, and expertise in working with people on the journey of motherhood. I’m proud to have been one of the first wave of therapists in the world to have the initials PMH-C behind my name, having been approved for and passing the international Perinatal Mental Health Certification exam. I have a broad and well-rounded background that allows me to uniquely support this journey.  In addition to my education and training as a psychotherapist, my experience as a birth and postpartum doula, a lactation counselor, a childbirth educator, and a mother of preemie twins gives me a deep and multi-faceted understanding of these issues.

Within this area, some of my specialties are:

  • Preparing emotionally for an upcoming birth

  • Using EMDR to process a difficult or traumatic birth and/or postpartum time either on its own or in preparation for an upcoming birth/postpartum time

  • Miscarriage and pregnancy loss

  • Pregnancy or Postpartum Depression

  • Pregnancy or Postpartum Anxiety

  • Pregnancy or Postpartum OCD

  • Parenting twins or other multiples

  • Breastfeeding difficulties

  • Issues pertaining to NICU stays

  • General adjustment to motherhood

  • Maternal Depletion Syndrome
